Front Yard

Front Yard

The last big building job I worked on was 6 years ago. It was a two million dollar, 900 square meter ‘house’ for an accountant and his trophy wife… this is their front yard (complete with new vineyard) at about 7:30 AM on a brisk winter morning.

  2. What will they do when they get tired of this place? Once you’ve entered the land of “excess” there isn’t too much farther you can go. I would feel creeped out rattling around in a “house” that large. Never know what (or who) you might find around the next corner!

    • Perhaps it’s so big so they can’t find themselves around the next corner? There wasn’t much joy in the whole thing, bad karma from the start… the farmer they had bought the land off had kept a small piece with his ordinary house on, which was behind this place and higher (even better view, no farm now, and probably a million dollars richer) and by the time we started building, the accountant and his aerobics instructor wife had already had a non-trespass order taken out against the farmer, the neighbor they would be living in paradise with.
